A video titled ‘Sandy Hook Father Owns Congress’ has wracked up an impressive 2.7 million views on YouTube in less than a week with the star, Bill Stevens, being touted as a hero to those opposing new gun control laws. The only problem is, Stevens never had a child enrolled in Sandy Hook, and he never spoke to Congress.
In the video, Stevens, who introduces himself as a Newtown resident, tells a committee: ‘My fifth grade daughter was in lockdown on Dec. 14, 2012. Unfortunately her classmate’s little sister was murdered in Sandy Hook that day when lockdown and 911 weren’t enough to protect her from an evil person.
‘Not protect her from an assault rifle or some inanimate object but from an evil person.’
